Ask Five on Black Vibes: Interview with Rhyme Scheme

Take a look at our interview with rising indie artist Rhyme Scheme below!  In this interview, he talks about his forthcoming album All Black, plans for the future and more!  Read all about it below.

Brand New Hip Hop:  What's going on with Rhyme Scheme right now?
Rhyme Scheme: Rhyme Scheme is grinding heavy in 2013. While working on perfecting my sound, I am promoting several potential singles. I am currently promoting the single "4 Letters" off of my new album All Black. The album will drop this summer.

Brand New Hip Hop: What type of flavor are you bringing as an artist?
Rhyme Scheme:  As an artist, I have a very unique sound. I am a revolutionary, educator, and entertainer. As an artist who speaks 4 languages, I can potentially spread my message to world through music.  Everyone has a voice

Brand New Hip Hop: You have a banging new single right now by the name of "4 Letters", what would you like to say about it?
Rhyme Scheme: "4 Letters" is something that we all have experienced. L.O.V.E, whether if it's good or bad, L.O.V.E. is inevitable.  The song is a combination of stories relating to L.O.V.E. told through my eyes.

Brand New Hip Hop: Do you plan to shoot an official music video for this single, if so, what ideas do you have for the visuals if you don't mind revealing that early?
Rhyme Scheme: A video is coming very soon. The video will have actors depicting different forms of L.O.V.E. Each verse will coincide with a scenario. It will be very interesting for viewers.

Brand New Hip Hop: The beat on "4 Letters" is nice, have you worked with KZR Beatz before or do you plan on doing it again?
Rhyme Scheme:  KZR Beatz is a very talented producer. I worked with KZR Beatz on my previous mixtape Revolutionary Warfare. I plan to release more songs with KZR Beatz soon.

Brand New Hip Hop: What type of beats do you enjoy rhyming on the most?
Rhyme Scheme:  I really love up-tempo west coast beats. Depending on the subject matter, sometimes slower beats are more suitable for my stories.

Brand New Hip Hop: As an indie artist, what would you say is the best way to get the word out about your music?
Rhyme Scheme:  As an indie artist, you have to really hustle. I promote my music on every internet website such as reverbnation, soundcloud, youtube, etc. I also submit my music to many radio stations globally and perform at local venues. I work on my craft to deliver a good product.

Brand New Hip Hop: What plans do you have for the rest of 2013?
Rhyme Scheme:  I plan on dropping my album ALL BLACK and continue to perfect my craft. I also have a few features with other indie artist coming soon.
The official album ALL BLACK is dropping in July 2013. It is my best work yet. Be on the look out for it.

Brand New Hip Hop: Is there anything else you would like to plug or inform the readers?
Rhyme Scheme:  Thank you very much for this interview.  Also, "One Love" to everyone who is a part of the "Rhyme Scheme" movement.

Check out our interview with Mono Bagends!  In this interview he talks about his two latest singles "On Fire", "You Drive Me Crazy", upcoming shows, etc.  Read what he has to say below.

Brand New Hip Hop:  What's going on with Mono Bagends right now?
Mono Bagends:  Grinding....doing my best to stay positive and let God show me my path.

Brand New Hip Hop:  Your single and video "On Fire" is hot right now, what would you like to say about it?
Mono Bagends:  I loved writing the record...I loved doing the video.  I am very happy that people have responded to it the way I thought they would.

Brand New Hip Hop:  You have another single out by the name of "You Drive Me Crazy", do you plan on shooting an official video for as well that anytime soon?
Mono Bagends:  I am not sure yet. I am getting a lot of requests for it so we'll see what happens.

Brand New Hip Hop:  For the readers, what type of flavor are you bringing with this current single "You Drive Me Crazy"?
Mono Bagends:  It's a fun fast paced dance record about a bad relationship. Many critics have compared it to something Pitbull or Flo-Rida would do.

Brand New Hip Hop:  We see that you've been getting a lot of publicity for your music on various sites... what are some of the sites you've been featured on recently?
Mono Bagends:  I can't keep up with it to be honest. There are over 400,000 things on google with my name. I have done four interviews today alone.

Brand New Hip Hop:  Where will you be featured next?
Mono Bagends:  Not sure. I am setting up a bunch of shows.  My fans can check my webite at www.bagendsblog.blogspot for the latest information.

Brand New Hip Hop:  Getting back to the music, you seem to have a great ear for beats, who does your production?
Mono Bagends:  Thank you. I have always prided myself on that.  I don't have any one or two producers I deal with.  I get production from different people all over the world.  I am very versatile so I don't need one particular type of sound.  If its hot I can rock out on it.

Brand New Hip Hop:  We see that you do a lot of work with The Giant Blast, as far as promotion and Internet Marketing, what made you want to reach out to them for that extra push and what do they do for you?
Mono Bagends:  Jay is a hard worker and a honest guy...that's why I work with him. He sets up interviews for me, manages my blog, contacts radio stations....pretty much anything I need done Jay is willing to do. I would recommend him to other artists and companies out there.

Brand New Hip Hop:  Speaking of promotion, what's has been some of the best ways to get your music out there to the masses as an indie artist?
Mono Bagends:  There is really no one way.  You have to find what works for you.  Target your audience and find the best ways to reach them. I know that is vague but it the best advice I can give. What works for me won't work for everybody.

Brand New Hip Hop: This may be a little off the record, but what other companies have you worked with to get your music out if any?
Mono Bagends:  I've worked with Hip Video Promo and Foundation Media also. They work hard and are good people.

Brand New Hip Hop:  Where can fans purchase your music?
Mono Bagends:  Itunes and Amazon are the two biggest outlets.

Brand New Hip Hop:  How can beatmakers, other artists or promoters get in touch with you for submitting beats, collabs, and shows?
Mono Bagends:  They can hit me up at bagendsrecords@gmail.com

Brand New Hip Hop: Speaking of shows, do you have anything coming up?
Mono Bagends:  Just got off the phone discussing that. Right now I have June 9th at the Nu Rican Cafe in Manhattan, June 17th at the Trash Bar in Brooklyn and in August I am performing in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at the Music Festival. Ke$ha and Carly Rae Jepson will also be there. More to come.

Brand New Hip Hop:  Is there anything else you would like to plug or inform the readers?
Mono Bagends:  Thanks for the interview, You can hit me up at all the social network sites and check out my website bagendsblog.blogspot.com for all the updates.
